Week 5 inactives watch list #fantasyfootball #nfl

Bye week teams: Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders. Monday Night Football: Seattle Seahawks at Washington Redskins, 8:30 p.m. We track key injuries Monday-Friday in Injury Central. Full Week 5 NFL inactives lists Ruled out before Sunday WR Donnie Avery (groin), RB Joique Bell (concussion), S Eric Berry (ankle), S Jairus Byrd (knee), LB Bruce Carter (thigh), WR Harry Douglas (foot), WR Mike Evans (groin), TE Joseph Fauria (ankle), S Dashon Goldson (ankle), RB Mark Ingram (hand), WR Marqise Lee (hamstring), RB Ryan Mathews (knee), QB Carson Palmer (right shoulder), RB Theo Riddick (hamstring), WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring), RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) Top players we're watching Early games, 1 p.m. ET (9 scheduled) WR Tavon Austin (knee, questionable): active RB Arian Foster (hamstring, probable): active WR Andre Johnson (ankle, questionable): active WR Calvin Johnson (ankle, questionable): active RB Jonathan Stewart (knee, doubtful): inactive QB Josh McCown (right thumb, questionable): inactive WR Golden Tate (hamstring, probable): active Late games, 4:05 and 4:25 p.m. ET (3 scheduled) TE Vernon Davis (back, questionable) WR Eric Decker (hamstring, questionable) Sunday Night Football, 8:30 p.m. ET DE Chandler Jones (shoulder, questionable) WR Marvin Jones (ankle, doubtful) Updates/analysis (most recent first) Brandon Marshall active (12:09 p.m. ET): ESPN's Michael C. Wright reports that WR Brandon Marshall (ankle, probable) is active for the Chicago Bears. Wright also tweeted on Saturday that Marshall "said he feels good and doesn't feel limited. Said he feels 'more explosive' and that he's got his wind back." It's great news for Marshall, who has routinely been a questionable listing in past weeks; he was probable this week and his arrow is pointing upward. He is our No. 9 wide receiver for Week 5. Tavon Austin active (12:07 p.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter Nick Wagoner reports that WR Tavon Austin (knee, questionable) is active for the St. Louis Rams. He'll man the slot this week, but his fantasy production isn't good enough to warrant even WR4 appeal. Austin didn't crack our top 50 wide receivers for Week 5. Golden Tate active (12:04 p.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter Michael Rothstein reports that WR Golden Tate (hamstring, probable) is active for the Detroit Lions. He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, but still has a good chance to pace the Lions in targets due to Calvin Johnson's injury. Tate is a solid WR3 for Week 5; he is our No. 27 option. Darrin Reaves draws the start (11:59 a.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter David Newton reports that Darrin Reaves is listed as the Carolina Panthers' starting running back for Week 5. As expected, but the team is likely to use a rotational approach to the position. Be cautious expecting anything more than flex-play production from Reaves. Bernard Pierce active (11:58 a.m. ET): The Baltimore Ravens' official Twitter feed reports that RB Bernard Pierce (thigh, probable) is active. There have been reports that the Ravens plan to utilize all three of their running backs in Week 5, leading to a nightmarish-for-fantasy running back by committee picture. It's one of the main reasons we didn't rank any of their depth-chart-top-three as anything more than flex plays: Justin Forsett placed 24th, Lorenzo Taliaferro 35th and Pierce 43rd. Kyle Williams inactive (11:55 a.m. ET): The Buffalo Bills' official Twitter feed reports that DT Kyle Williams (knee, doubtful) is inactive. With both Williams and LB Nigel Bradham (knee, doubtful) inactive, the Bills' run defense doesn't look quite as scary as its sixth-best-at-limiting-fantasy-points ranking against opposing running backs. That's good news for Reggie Bush, who is the Detroit Lions' clear starter with Joique Bell inactive. Ben Tate active (11:53 a.m. ET): The Cleveland Browns' official Twitter feed reports that RB Ben Tate (knee, probable) is active. Bear in mind, though, that there was a Friday report that Tate had some concern about his knee following his Friday practice. It's possible that he's playing at beneath 100 percent and/or might be on a limited snap count, which is why he's more of a flex option than a clear RB2 for Week 5. We ranked him 26th. Mark Barron active (11:51 a.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that S Mark Barron (abdomen, questionable) is active. Barron is Jim McCormick's No. 8 defensive back for Week 5. Mason Foster inactive (11:51 a.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that LB Mason Foster (shoulder, questionable) is inactive. With Foster sidelined, Dane Fletcher will step in for him. It's a small bump for the Saints' running game; keep that in mind if you own Khiry Robinson or Pierre Thomas. Michael Johnson active (11:50 a.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that DE Michael Johnson (ankle, questionable) is active. Johnson is Jim McCormick's No. 13 defensive lineman for Week 5. Gerald McCoy active (11:50 a.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that DT Gerald McCoy (hand, questionable) is active. McCoy is Jim McCormick's No. 27 defensive lineman for Week 5. Austin Seferian-Jenkins active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins (ankle, questionable) is active. He put in only a limited Friday practice, but apparently there aren't any lingering concerns after he absorbed effectively starter's snaps in Week 4. With WR Mike Evans (groin) sidelined, Seferian-Jenkins should see a few more targets than usual this week. He is our No. 20 tight end for Week 5. Josh McCown inactive (11:47 a.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that QB Josh McCown (right thumb, questionable) is inactive. As expected. He didn't practice at all this week, making it obvious that Mike Glennon would start again at quarterback. Glennon is our No. 18 quarterback for Week 5. Andre Johnson active (11:46 a.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter Tania Ganguli reports that WR Andre Johnson (ankle, questionable) is active for the Houston Texans. Several reports suggested Johnson showed no limitations whatsoever during pre-game warm-ups, which is a good sign considering he sat out Friday's practice. Johnson is well worth using as a WR2; he is our No. 16 option for Week 5. Arian Foster active (11:44 a.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter Tania Ganguli reports that RB Arian Foster (hamstring, probable) is active for the Houston Texans. He was limited throughout the practice week and his "probable" tag was actually somewhat surprising; he might be the most limited -- at least among prominent fantasy options -- of anyone who had that tag. Keep that in mind if you own Foster. He's more of an RB2 than RB1 as a result, earning only our No. 11 ranking at the position for Week 5. Jonathan Stewart inactive (11:38 a.m. ET): The Carolina Panthers' official Twitter feed reports that RB Jonathan Stewart (knee, doubtful) is inactive. As expected. Stewart joins RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) on the sidelines this week, leaving Darrin Reaves as the leading man in a "hot hand" Panthers backfield including Fozzy Whittaker and Chris Ogbonnaya. Reaves, as the highest-ranked on the depth chart, is the back you want if you must choose from the Panthers' options, but we still ranked him only 34th accounting for the uncertainty. Calvin Johnson active (11:31 a.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter Michael Rothstein reports that WR Calvin Johnson (ankle, questionable) is active for the Detroit Lions. His "active" status was expected, but his usage is what remains in question. ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted at around 11:28 a.m. ET: "Question is how much Detroit will use him." Johnson's fantasy owners who have extraordinary depth at wide receiver could consider dodging the question. Still, there's a reason we ranked Johnson our No. 3 wideout regardless: He has the ability to make a few big plays for big-time fantasy points even with limited snaps. How lucky do you feel? Odell Beckham active (11:27 a.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter Dan Graziano reports that WR Odell Beckham (hamstring, questionable) is active for the New York Giants. Beckham will be making his NFL debut, but it is unclear how many snaps he will play and, at best, he'd be fourth in Eli Manning's receiver pecking order. We didn't rank Beckham among our top 50 wide receivers for Week 5 for those reasons, but his performance bears watching for dynasty league owners, and perhaps also for redraft league owners seeking late-season sleepers. Jon Beason inactive (11:24 a.m. ET): ESPN NFL Nation reporter Dan Graziano reports that LB Jon Beason (foot, questionable) is inactive for the New York Giants. It's Beason's third consecutive game missed, and the Giants' defense hasn't performed particularly poorly in his absence, oddly. His absence isn't a positive for the Giants, and their D/ST matchup isn't the best this week besides; they are our No. 14 D/ST for Week 5
